    • Things to know

      A Christ-centered Scouting Group
Recently endorsed by Archbishop Schnurr as the preferred scouting method, American Heritage Girls offers badge-work, leadership opportunities, outdoor experiences and community. St. Cecilia’s troop meets the first and third Thursdays in the Commons.

Let your Daughters Grow in Christ
There is an obvious need for cultural change for our nation. A need for girls to know the love of Christ, the joy of lasting friendships, and the fun of new wholesome experiences. In joining AHG, you will be the vehicle for change – focusing on a Christ-centered way for future generations.

Encourage Your Daughters to Grow into Women of Integrity via American Heritage Girls
AHG developed a program that emphasized six key components to achieve the overall Program mission of building women of integrity. A girl who completes the AHG Program will be a Christ-following servant leader who is honoring, relational, anchored in Christ, and competent.
      1. The Faith Emphasis creates a girl who is a Christ-Follower. AHG offers Faith and Religious Award programs, Badges that incorporate the Faith Emphasis, like Bible Basics and Daughter of the King, as well as resources from partner organizations like Tween Gospel Alliance and Back2Back Ministries.
      2. The Leadership Emphasis creates servant leaders who put others first. The AHG Program is rich in leadership opportunities, allowing girls to acquire project management skills, leadership positions within their Troop, and the opportunity for mentorship between older and younger girls.
      3. Social aims to create positive and loving relationships with others. AHG's multi-Level Troop structure encourages girls to create friendships with girls of all ages allowing mentorships to occur natural, as well as teaching social skills and self-care through badges and patches.
      4. An AHG Girl is anchored to Christ even when emotions try to take control of her life. Girls will gain a better identity in Christ through AHG. Building confidence will come through outdoor experiences and trying new things in a safe environment. Emotional purity will also be encouraged and displayed in the Troop.
      5. Citizenship encourages girls to care for their community and being an active citizen through service and patriotism. Girls grow a deeper understanding of their country by participating in Flag Ceremonies and Patriotic events. Serving in their community and being active citizens fosters a lifelong long for their country.
      6. AHG Girls will become competent through life skills. Earning Badges provides girls the opportunity to learn a wide array of life skills and to practice them through activities like camping and cooking.
    • With a progressive program, girls can build upon their skills, learning and developing at an age appropriate level as they grow into women of integrity. Girls will experience balanced programing through the six Program Emphases.
