Do you have a desire to become a better husband and father and at the same time improve your relationship with God our Almighty Father? Would you like to meet other men like you and with them explore real-life questions about being a Catholic Father today?
If yes, the FATHERS TEAM offers practical advice, fellowship, and encouragement to men, to build their capacity to be devoted spiritual leaders for their families and grow closer in their relationship to God. The mission of the FATHERS TEAM is Men Supporting Men; Growing in Faith and Fatherhood. We help build men renewed with faith, hope, and love through confidential sharing of practical experience and mutual accountability, the guidance of our Christian faith, and fun.
The FATHERS TEAM meets for 45 minutes every Friday at 6:45 AM on the second floor of the Seton Center at St. Mary in Hyde Park. If you can’t make it every week, no problem. We have the flexibility to deal with those demanding work and personal schedules. The meetings are facilitated discussion, so no presentation and you can participate as little or as much you would like. The FATHERS TEAM meets primarily during the school year, starting in September through May. A schedule is created over the summer and covers topics under the categories of God, The Word, Church, Spouse, Family and Self. We have a core team of 4 fathers who primarily facilitate the weekly discussion but other fathers have led various topics as well. This group is perfect for all those looking for mentorship and connection with fathers "in the same boat", a place to learn about the Catholic Church's teachings on a variety of topics, ideas on dealing with "dad" issues, and ways to get involved with the Family of Parishes.
