Bob is celebrating his thirty-fifth year at St. Cecilia parish as Director of Music Ministry. He is organist for all liturgies and services, weddings and funerals and directs the 36-member Choir at St. Cecilia as well as the cantor program, children’ school choir, soloists and instrumentalists. Bob has produced three CDs featuring the Choir at St. Cecilia—one for Lent, one for Christmas, and one dedicated to the Blessed Mother. A fourth edition is in the creative process dedicated to the Blessed Sacrament. Although contemporary music has been the familiar staple of Catholics over the last 40 years, Bob has struggled to maintain a more traditional music program at St. Cecilia including Latin, Gregorian chant and traditional catholic hymnody which are best performed on the 37-rank St. Cecilia pipe organ.
Bob’s education from the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music in music education, organ and piano, as well as post graduate studies in development, marketing and public relations from the University of Notre Dame, has allowed him to also managed a thirty-plus year career in development and non-profit management, providing fundraising and executive management for local clients including the Contemporary Arts Center, Cincinnati Country Day School and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. For the past seven years, Bob has also served as Director of Stewardship directing and managing the $2 million plus capital campaign for restoration projects for the St. Cecilia parish church and school buildings.
A native Cincinnatian, growing up in Over-the-Rhine and Price Hill, Bob now resides in Blue Ash with his wife of 36 years. He is the proud father of three grown daughters and grandfather of two.
