The Chosen: Conversation and Catholic Commentary September 19-November 7th, 2024
Millions of souls worldwide have fallen in love all over again with Sacred Scripture through Dallas Jenkins' television series The Chosen. Taking a bit of a different approach than other films over the past fifty years, The Chosen tells the story of Jesus ministry from the perspective of His Apostles, allowing each viewer to come to a deeply personal encounter with Christ and see more clearly our Lord's humor, gentleness, and humanity through the conversations with His earliest followers. And while the writers clearly have a commitment to portraying the dialogue and events as they occurred in the Bible (often verbatim from page to screen), there are some noticeable creative liberties taken that prompt conversation about authenticity and the Catholic interpretation. Join us for an eight week opportunity to dive into this beloved series' episodes from the very beginning and break open discussion with perspectives from other participants and expert Catholic theologians.
